Ballantyne Dunkin Donuts honors first responders for 9/11 National Day of Service

As the effects of Hurricane Florence began to fade from the Charlotte area, the Dunkin Donuts stores in Ballantyne and Tega Cay partnered with Bank of America on its 9/11 National Day of Service initiative.

The National Day of Service was established to honor the victims and heroes of  9/11 and to rekindle the spirit of unity and compassion that followed the attacks. We here at the Ballantyne Dunkin Donuts appreciate the sacrifices made during that day and every day a service member puts their life on the line for the community.

To that end, we wanted to do our part in showing our appreciation. Bank of America sets a shining example by setting the goal to unite Americans through acts of service and good deeds to honor the victims, heroes and all those who rose in service in response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that forever changed our nation.

Bank of America Community Volunteers shows their appreciation for our local Police and Fire service members by purchasing and delivering snacks, cookies, and drinks to local police or fire departments. Their goal is to deliver to each of the police and fire departments in the greater Charlotte area.

Over the past days, first responders have been busy helping the community deal with the flooding and wind damage dealt by Florence.

On Tuesday, store owner David Knight and store manager Christina Evans wanted to honor those involved in keeping our communities safe and provided (and in some cases will provide) donuts for several regional police stations and fire departments.

“If felt great to participate in this wonderful event honoring our first responders,” said Knight. “This also felt so timely after the impacts of Florence. First responders, we salute you!”

This furthers the commitment Knight and Evans established for their two Dunkin Donuts’ franchises in giving back to the Ballantyne and Tega Cay communities.  We have more events planned for the Fall and Holiday Season to support the great local charities and give back to the community.

Cheers,
